In the group I’ve been working with the last few days there is someone who was quite skeptical about what we were doing. (There usually is at least one.) I find interpersonal curiosity can help here in ways that defending oneself or arguing can’t. First of all, by practicing curiosity you get important information about why the person is skeptical and can address their specific concerns. Inquiry is also a respectful way of engaging with another person and works on an emotional level as well. More about this when I am not sitting in the back of a taxi on my way to the airport.
